How long should I use Dermatix®?
Initial improvement may be observed after 8 weeks of continued use. For major or bigger scars it may take 3 to 6 months or more to experience the full benefits of Dermatix®.
When is my scar ready for Dermatix®?
Dermatix® works better on new scars. However, you should only start the treatment of your scar once the wound has closed, typically 10-14 days after the injury occurred.
When should Dermatix® not be used?
- Dermatix® should not be applied on open or wet wounds.
- Dermatix® should not be placed in contact with mucous membranes or applied too close to the eyes.
- Dermatix® should not be used concurrently with other skin medications without the advice of your doctor.
The following is a general estimation as to when you should start your treatment with Dermatix®:
| SCAR RESULTING FROM: | TIME TO START DERMATIX®: |
| Surgery: e.g., C-section, thyroidectomy, cardiac surgery, etc. | After 10 - 14 days |
| Facial surgery: eyelid surgery, etc. | After 7 days |
| Deep cuts | After 7 - 10 days |
| Mild burns | After 3 - 5 days |
| Minor scratches, insect bites | Right away - 1 day |

Is Dermatix® safe to use?
Dermatix® has been used in children. Generally, Dermatix® does not cause redness, pain or irritation to the skin. If any side effect occurs, consult your pharmacists or doctor immediately.
How do I know if Dermatix® is working?
A scar is usually red or darker in color compared to the normal surrounding skin; it is thick, dry, elevated and can be itchy and painful. With regular and proper use of Dermatix®, your scar will lighten, soften and flatten over time. Dermatix® can also reduce itchiness and pain.
